The Bidlegal service is entirely free for potential clients to use. We do not take commissions or an introducer's 'cut'. We have no financial interest in the value of the legal work you get through Bidlegal (although obviously we hope it produces significant and valuable clients for you).
We charge a small administration fee when a law firm first registers with us. Our charges vary, depending on the size of the firm. The rationale is that larger firms tend to provide more services, so we need to spend more time setting up larger firms on the Bidlegal system.
Our registration fees are:
For these purposes, we do not distinguish between different types of partner (equity, fixed share, salaried etc).
In addition, we charge an annual fee. Again, this varies depending on the size of the firm. Our annual fees are:
We do not however charge the annual fee until you receive your first client through Bidlegal. As soon as we've put you in touch with a client who wants you to act for them, we'll then raise the invoice for our annual fee.
This means your maximum outlay, if you don't receive any clients through Bidlegal, is the initial registration fee. Obviously we hope you'll receive lots of clients through Bidlegal so this won't be an issue.
It doesn't matter how many clients you 'win' through Bidlegal: there is no increase in fee for any further clients you get through the Bidlegal service. At the end of your first year, you can decide whether to renew your membership. If you do, we'll then charge you the annual fee straight away.
If you choose not to renew your membership, you just need to let us know. If you decide to rejoin later, we reserve the right to charge you the initial registration fee if we need to add your details back onto the system. We'll normally only do so if you allowed your membership to lapse for two or more years.
All our fees are subject to VAT. We are VAT registered and will provide you with a VAT invoice.
